
IT Strategy Manager

As an IT Strategy Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the mid-to-long-term IT landscape by aligning technology capabilities with business ambitions. You will drive strategic planning efforts, provide insight-driven guidance on key technology decisions, and design governance frameworks that enable agility, control, and measurable impact. You will also take an active role in the development and management of IT policies to ensure coherence and compliance across the enterprise. This role requires close collaboration with stakeholders across both business and IT domains to assess current-state environments, shape future-state operating and governance models, and deliver actionable roadmaps that accelerate digital transformation, enhance operational resilience, and unlock sustainable business value.
This is what you bring
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related discipline; an MBA or postgraduate specialization in Strategy, Digital Innovation, or Enterprise Architecture is preferred.
- 7–10 years of progressive experience in IT strategy, digital transformation, enterprise architecture, or technology consulting roles — preferably within complex or multinational environments.
- Proven ability to lead high-impact strategy engagements and transformation initiatives in large-scale organizations.
- Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills, with the ability to distill complex technical topics into actionable business insights.
- Deep knowledge of IT operating models, digital platforms, and enterprise technology landscapes.
- Familiarity with industry-standard frameworks such as TOGAF, COBIT, ITIL, or equivalent.
- Exceptional communication and executive presentation skills, with a track record of engaging stakeholders across business and IT functions.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, take ownership, and operate effectively in fast-paced, dynamic, environments.
- Collaborative mindset with experience working in cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders at all organizational levels.
What will you do?
Key Responsibilities
IT Strategy Development
- Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders, including non-technical executives, to understand strategic business objectives and translate them into a coherent IT vision and transformation initiatives.
- Steer assessments of the current IT landscape, operating models, and governance frameworks to evaluate maturity, gaps, and business alignment.
- Design and articulate future-state IT strategies that align with overall business goals, including architecture, digital capabilities, and organizational models — that enable innovation, scalability, and growth.
2. Strategic IT Planning
- Develop and maintain a long-term IT strategic plan that reflects evolving business priorities and emerging technology trends.
- Prepare business cases, scenario analyses, strategic roadmaps, and implementation blueprints to support executive decision-making.
- Support the execution of transformation programs, ensuring effective change management, stakeholder alignment, and performance monitoring.
- Identify, evaluate, and advise on disruptive technologies, innovation opportunities, and shifts in the competitive and regulatory landscape.
3. IT Governance & Policy Management
- Define and maintain enterprise-wide IT governance structures, and policies, to ensure consistency, compliance, and operational effectiveness.
- Monitor adherence to governance and promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
- Champion IT management best practices, including strategic sourcing, demand governance, and value-based investment prioritization.
4. Technology Architecture Advisory
- Partner with architects and solution teams to guide key technology decisions through a strategic and business-aligned lens.
- Ensure technology choices align with long-term strategic goals, risk appetite, performance needs, and scalability requirements.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends to advise senior IT and business stakeholders on their relevance, applicability, and strategic impacts.
5. Digital Risk & Resilience
- Conduct strategic digital risk assessments to identify technology-related threats, vulnerabilities, and operational exposures.
- Collaborate with risk, compliance, and security functions to embed resilience and risk mitigation strategies into IT planning to safeguard organizational assets.
- Provide guidance to senior leadership on strategic controls, resilience mechanisms, and technology-related regulatory developments.

- Gross salary between € 4.165,- and € 6.845- month depending on your work experience.
