As a network administrator within the IT Infrastructure department you are responsible for the design and daily management of the IT infrastructure and you keep network devices and relevant Operating Systems up-to-date.

Network administrator (40 hours)

You are part of the Dutch IT Organization of PwC. As a network administrator within the IT Infrastructure department you have a broad range of duties. You are responsible for the design and daily management of the IT infrastructure and you keep network devices and relevant Operating Systems up-to-date.

Your place of work is Utrecht (5 days a week).

Who are you?

  • You have an education at HBO level or HBO work and thinking level obtained through experience and you have relevant knowledge and experience with:
  • Network management - switches / routers (Cisco Nexus / ASR)
  • Firewalls (Palo Alto, Juniper)
  • Cisco Meraki - switches / access points (management, troubleshooting)
  • Routing protocols / standards such as: VRF, MPLS, BGP
  • Orion Solarwinds - monitor platform
  • Cisco ISE - Security Management Platform
  • Azure Networking
  • Experience with Linux is a pre (open source network tooling)
  • ITSM Tooling (Servicenow)

Minimum 5 years of experience in a comparable position.

If possible you also have experience with:

  • Vmware Server (ESXi)
  • Microsoft Windows server, Active Directory
  • VoIP environments.
  • Ekahau Wireless surveys

You can work in a team and you have good communication skills in both Dutch and English. You are resistant to stress and you have no objection to occasional work outside of regular working hours. A customer-oriented and flexible attitude is a must. You are in possession of a driver's license and car.

In addition, you are willing to follow training courses for the above desired areas.

What does your work look like?
The management of our network has recently been insourced. That means that you and your colleagues are responsible for the entire network. You will be involved in projects that will make our network a state-of-the-art network. Together with our European colleagues, you integrate the networks into a peering network (BGP). You build specific networks for customer-specific questions (from our internal customers). You monitor the performance, capacity, security and continuity of the network components. You identify imperfections and you make improvement and / or expansion proposals. You test and install new components of the technical infrastructure. You maintain the related documentation.

In addition to management, you also act as a pivot in the ITIL third-line incident and problem process. You determine domains and resolve network failures and incidents.

Structured working assumes that you have mastered supporting methods and techniques, you both prepare and execute procedures and instructions and you master a technical toolset in your own field of work and you contribute to this in the development thereof.

You prepare and maintain maintenance plans. You provide relevant reports and you inform the data subject where necessary. You are also widely applicable for general infrastructure work.
