ING TALENT PROGRAMME
Starting area OPERATIONS & IT BANKING
The ING Talent Programme (ITP) is a three-year traineeship with nine starting areas and is based in the Netherlands. We also welcome English speaking graduates to apply for five starting areas in the ING Talent Programme. One of these starting areas is Operations & IT Banking.
Operations & IT Banking
You can look at Operations & IT Banking (Ops & IT) as a large, centralised ‘back office' which, on a worldwide basis, supports the company components of ING in the area of processes. In other words: thanks to Ops & IT the customer gets that which the sales departments of ING promises: for example a mortgage, a bank card or an insurance product. It goes without saying that ING intends to offer its customers optimum service in the area of financial service provisioning. This means maximum speed and service for the end user against minimum costs for the internal customer (company components of ING).
Ops & IT is looking for ambitious professionals who would like to work within the dynamic working field of Information Technology (IT). Are you a person who sees the significant difference between good and better? Do you have a helicopter view, a systematic level of thought and the drive to implement improvements in the organisation that will benefit efficiency? If so, then Operations & IT Banking is the starting area for you. You have flair, good human relations skills and a good share of organisational sensitivity. A technical background is preferred however not obliged. What counts is your ambition, personality and your motivation to build up a varied career within Ops & IT!
PROGRAMME
During the first year you will work on two projects which will differ in planning and approach and you will get to know Operations & IT well. You will soon have your own responsibilities and gain experience in project management and in preparing (project) analyses. Then you will start your first position as project manager, business consultant or team leader of an operational unit. A position abroad is also part of the possibilities. In time you can grow towards a managerial position or you can further develop into a high value specialist.
TRAINING
ING International Graduate Programme: an exclusive three-week programme for ING trainees from all over the world. This programme focuses on getting to know ING and our winning performance culture. You will have the opportunity to broaden your network and to get to know the senior managers within ING.
Depending on your wishes and learning objectives a specific training route will be prepared for you.
ORGANISATIONAL CONTEXT
ING Operations & IT. Your customers consist of various internal business lines or divisions such as Intermediair (among others Nationale-Nederlanden), Wholesale Banking, Retail Banking, ING Direct Germany and ING Belgium.
PERSONAL PROFILE
1.You are a Master's graduate (MSc, MA, LLM) with no more than two years of work experience;
2.You study, work or live in the Netherlands and you want to start your career in the Netherlands;
3.You are interested in managing processes and applying IT solutions. With regard to the latter we do not expect extensive knowledge on ‘bits and bytes level' but you should know what goes on within an IT environment;
4.You are sensitive, a good listener and are sharp when problem analysis and formation of a judgment are concerned;
5.You have the ambition to, in time, become a manager.
TYPE OF JOB OFFER
We offer you permanent employment on the basis of a 36-hour working week and a local (Dutch) contract.
SALARY & BENEFITS

HOW TO APPLY
SELECTION PROCEDURE
If you choose Operations & IT Banking, then you can start at any desired moment during the year. At first instance we will assess your cover letter and curriculum vitae. If we consider you a good fit for the programme, we will invite you to take a capacity test. In case of a positive test result an interview with two recruiters will follow after which further selection steps will follow (assessment and an interview with senior managers of ING).
